Eight Phases. Zero Surprises. From First Call to Final Walkthrough.
Every BrightForge project follows the same disciplined sequence — so you always know what's happening, what's next, and what it costs.
What Happens From the Day You Call to the Day We Hand Back the Keys
Each phase has clear deliverables, defined responsibilities, and a written checkpoint you sign off on before we move forward.
Discovery Call
Twenty minutes on the phone with a BrightForge project coordinator. We ask about your goals, your timeline, your budget range, and the current state of the space. No pressure, no sales script — just an honest conversation to confirm we're a good fit for each other.
What We Ask
Room dimensions, current layout issues, budget range, and target start date.
What You Get
A ballpark investment range and a scheduled in-home consultation date.
In-Home Measure & Design Consultation
Your project manager and designer visit your home — typically 90 minutes. We measure every wall, check framing, photograph the space, and review material samples on site. This is where ideas start to become a real plan.
Who Attends
Your project manager, a designer, and (for kitchens) our cabinetry lead.
What We Bring
Material samples, appliance catalogs, and a tablet with our 3D design software.
Design Development & Fixed Proposal
We build out your design in 3D, refine material selections, and prepare a line-item proposal with fixed pricing. Every labor hour, every material, every permit fee is documented. You'll know exactly what you're paying for before you sign anything.
3D Renderings
Two design revisions included. Additional revisions are billed hourly at a published rate.
Fixed Pricing
Once you sign, that's the number. Change orders only happen if you request them.
Pre-Construction & Permits
We file all required permits with your municipality, schedule inspections, order long-lead materials (cabinets, stone, appliances), and confirm delivery dates. You receive a written schedule with week-by-week milestones before demolition begins.
Permits Filed
Building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical — all pulled together under one application.
Materials Ordered
Cabinets, stone, tile, and appliances confirmed with delivery dates in hand.
Demolition & Site Preparation
Careful demolition with floor protection, plastic dust barriers, and a dedicated debris container. We remove all old materials, inspect framing and subfloor, and document any hidden issues before proceeding. If we find a surprise, we stop and discuss it with you the same day.
Dust Control
Zip-wall barriers, HEPA air scrubbers, and daily site cleanup.
Hidden Issues
Any unexpected structural or moisture issue is documented and priced before we continue.
Rough-In: Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC
All mechanical work happens now, before any wall closes. New circuits, relocated drains, extended HVAC, ventilation, and framing adjustments. Every rough-in is inspected by your municipality before we insulate and drywall.
Electrical
Dedicated circuits, GFCI protection, and code-compliant panel work.
Plumbing
Relocated supply and drain lines, pressure-tested before walls close.
HVAC
Supply and return extended, ventilation sized to code, exhaust ducted to exterior.
Finishes: Drywall, Tile, Cabinets, Fixtures
The visible transformation. Insulation, drywall, primer, paint, flooring, tile, cabinetry, countertops, and every fixture installed in sequence. This is the longest phase and where daily photo updates matter most.
Waterproofing
Membrane, shower pan, and niche details installed before any tile goes up.
Cabinetry
Set and leveled, countertops templated and installed with hidden seams.
Fixtures
Sinks, faucets, toilets, lighting, and hardware installed and tested.
Punch List, Walkthrough & Handoff
We walk the finished space together, room by room. You point out anything that isn't right; we document it and fix it. Only when you're satisfied do we close the project. Final invoices are due 7 days after your sign-off, not before.
Punch List
Any item you flag is corrected within 5 business days — at our cost.
Documentation
You receive warranty info, care guides, and receipts for all registered appliances.
Follow-Up
We check in at 30 days and 12 months to confirm everything still works as promised.
Follow Every Phase From Your Phone
No wondering what's happening today. Your project portal shows real-time progress, photos, and messages — updated every working day.
Your Project, Live
Every BrightForge client gets a personal project portal with daily updates, photos, schedules, and direct messaging with their project manager.
What You Can Do in the Portal
- See daily photo updates from your project manager — no need to call and ask how it's going.
- Message your project manager directly. Responses within one business hour during work days.
- View your live schedule, upcoming milestones, and any change to the timeline.
- Access every invoice, receipt, and warranty document in one place.
- Approve change orders digitally — no printing, no scanning, no trips to the office.
Four Commitments We Put in Writing
These aren't marketing slogans. They're contract clauses you can hold us to.
Fixed Price
Once you sign, the price doesn't change unless you request a scope change. Materials market fluctuations, labor overruns, and permit delays are our problem — not yours.
Written Schedule
You receive a week-by-week schedule before demolition begins. If we fall behind for any reason, we notify you the same day and present a recovery plan.
Clean Site Daily
Every workday ends with a swept site, secured tools, and any debris removed. Your home stays livable throughout the project.
Satisfaction Clause
If any part of the work doesn't match the approved scope, we fix it at our cost. No arguments, no nickel-and-diming. This clause is in every BrightForge contract.
What a Typical Week Looks Like
Every project is different, but our weekly rhythm stays consistent. Here's what you can expect while construction is active.
Week Kickoff
Your project manager confirms the week's plan, trade schedule, and any decisions you need to make by Wednesday.
Active Work Days
Crews work 8am–4:30pm. You receive daily photo updates by 6pm via the portal.
Walkthrough
Your project manager walks the site with you, reviews what was accomplished, and previews next week.
Site Reset
Deep clean, tool inventory, and secure the site for the weekend. No crew on site Saturday or Sunday unless scheduled in advance.
What Homeowners Ask Most Often
For a typical kitchen or bathroom: 8–14 weeks total, including 3–4 weeks of design and permitting plus 4–10 weeks of construction. Basements run 10–16 weeks total. We'll give you a specific timeline in your proposal.
Change orders are permitted any time before the affected work begins. You'll see the labor, materials, and schedule impact before you approve anything. If the change is minor, we usually absorb it. If it's substantial, we price it transparently.
No. Most clients are at work during the day. We ask that you're reachable by phone for decisions and available for the Friday walkthrough. If you need to be home, that's fine too — we keep the site clean and respectful.
Small changes like paint colors, hardware, or light fixture selections can often be made mid-project. Structural changes or cabinet modifications after order are usually expensive and slow — that's why we lock in the design before ordering.
Tell your project manager immediately. If the issue isn't resolved, escalate to our Client Experience Manager — she's independent of the construction team. Our contract includes a satisfaction clause requiring us to correct any work that doesn't match the approved scope at our cost.
You receive a 5-year workmanship warranty on all labor plus manufacturer warranties on all materials. We schedule a 30-day check-in and a 12-month follow-up to confirm everything still works as promised.
