Accessibility Statement
We believe every homeowner deserves equal access to information about our services. This statement describes our ongoing commitment to digital accessibility and how to reach us if you encounter a barrier.
BrightForge Remodeling LLC is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all people, including those with disabilities. We continuously improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to our website and digital services.
1Our Commitment
Access to information about remodeling services should not depend on ability. We want every visitor — regardless of vision, hearing, motor control, or cognitive ability — to be able to:
- Learn about our kitchen, bathroom, and basement remodeling services
- Browse project portfolios and read verified client reviews
- Request a consultation through our online forms or by phone
- Access all policy, licensing, and contact information
- Reach a real person to answer questions about accessibility
This commitment extends beyond our website to include our in-home consultations, printed materials, and client communications.
2Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. WCAG is organized around four principles: content must be Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR).
Perceivable
Text alternatives, sufficient contrast, and adaptable content that works with screen readers and assistive technology.
CompliantOperable
Full keyboard navigation, sufficient time to complete actions, and no content that could trigger seizures.
CompliantUnderstandable
Readable text, predictable navigation, and input assistance to help users avoid and correct mistakes.
CompliantRobust
Compatible with current and future assistive technologies, using valid, semantic HTML and ARIA where appropriate.
Substantially CompliantConformance claim: This website is substantially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Substantially conformant" means that some content does not fully conform, but the overall site meets the intent and is usable by most visitors using assistive technology.
3Measures We Take
To support accessibility, BrightForge takes the following measures:
- Include accessibility as a requirement in our website design and development process
- Assign clear accessibility goals and responsibilities to our web team
- Ensure our staff receives accessibility awareness training and understands their role in providing accessible service
- Employ formal accessibility quality assurance methods, including automated scans and manual testing
- Conduct annual third-party accessibility audits
- Include people with disabilities in usability testing when practical
- Document known issues and publish a roadmap for resolution
4Accessibility Features
Our website includes the following accessibility features:
Visual
- Text color contrast ratios that meet or exceed WCAG AA standards (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text)
- Resizable text that remains functional up to 200% zoom
- Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images
- Visible focus indicators for keyboard users
- Support for browser-level dark mode, high contrast, and reduced motion preferences
Motor & Keyboard
- Full keyboard navigation — every interactive element is reachable by Tab key
- Skip-to-content link at the top of every page
- Sufficient click target sizes on mobile and desktop
- No content that requires hovering over an element to be functional
Screen Reader & Assistive Technology
- Semantic HTML5 structure (header, nav, main, footer, article, section)
- Proper heading hierarchy on every page
- ARIA labels where native HTML semantics are insufficient
- Form fields with properly associated labels
- Live region announcements for modal dialogs and form success messages
Content
- Plain-language writing wherever possible
- Consistent navigation and layout across all pages
- Meaningful link text (no "click here")
- Captions and transcripts for any video content
5Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some limitations may exist. We are actively working to resolve the following:
- Third-party content: Some embedded content from third-party services (fonts, icon libraries, analytics) may not fully meet our accessibility standards. We cannot control the accessibility of third-party platforms but choose vendors carefully.
- PDF documents: Some older PDF files may not be fully accessible to screen reader users. We are converting legacy PDFs to accessible HTML where practical.
- User-generated content: Client reviews and photographs may include content we did not author. We provide alt text where feasible.
- Legacy pages: A small number of older pages may not yet meet every WCAG AA criterion. These are being updated on a rolling basis.
If you encounter a barrier not listed here, please report it using the contact information below. We take every report seriously and aim to resolve verified issues within 30 days.
